Day 2 – Sigmaringen to Ulm

Nice breakfast at the Jägerhof, but discovered that by turning off my iPhone I had managed to re-lock it, meaning no tracking…boo. We loaded the bikes and were on the road by 9.  Wind was again pretty bad, getting up to 20mph at times. We stopped for baked goods and ice cream in Riedlingen, and ran into a couple from Britain that are riding to Budapest, also raising money for cancer research (Godspeed, Ian & Carol!). I did manage to unlock the iPhone again, so tracking is back on! We had only gone a mile before we had to stop to repair John’s front derailleur. Lunch in Munderkingen proved to be a challenge, but finally found a kebab shop that was open. Once more into the wind, we took several mini-stops before a more series stop in Esingen for a beer and OJ (not mixed, that would be gross).  The wind finally relented a few miles before Ulm, where a new challenge presented itself: the European Volleyball Championship was in town, and their 20,000 attendees took up most every room available. We finally found a place that had on opening, and are now ready to crash hard…realizing too late that we had neglected to take any still shots today. Will do better, we promise! UPDATE! We did take pics!
